A Kolkata–Pune IndiGo flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Raipur on Thursday after a woman passenger fell seriously ill during the journey, prompting swift action by the flight crew. The aircraft, operating as flight 6E-135, was diverted as the passenger’s condition deteriorated mid-air, raising immediate concern among onboard staff.
According to reports, the woman reportedly lost consciousness during the flight, leading the crew to contact Air Traffic Control at Raipur Airport for urgent clearance. The aircraft landed safely around 12 pm, ensuring that medical assistance could be provided without delay.
Upon landing, a medical team stationed at the airport attended to the passenger and administered first aid. She was later transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance for further treatment and observation, while airport authorities coordinated the response to the emergency.
Following the completion of all required procedures and after ensuring the situation was under control, the flight resumed its journey to Pune approximately an hour later, around 1 pm, with the remaining passengers onboard.
